Lois is a graduate of Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois. She has taught in Lutheran schools for 39 years. She has been a principal in three Lutheran schools and a Preschool Director in two Lutheran schools. She began her career by teaching kindergarten at Holy Ghost, and now she is back as principal. She has been an active volunteer in the school for the past three years as well.
Karen is the church and school and church office administrator, and she has worked at Holy Ghost for four years. She grew up in Southgate, MI and has two kids who attended Holy Ghost. They are now a senior and a sophomore in high school. Karen has a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University, and that is also where she met her husband, Rob. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and watching her kids participate in various sporting events.
This is Dreama’s first year teaching 3-4 year old preschool at Holy Ghost. She loves preschool and all the exploring, learning, and fun they get to have in the classroom. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with an NAYCE endorsement on her Associate’s degree. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has two loving and beautiful daughters. Her family is her greatest blessing. She is looking forward to meeting many new friends and wishes everyone a blessed and safe school year.
Brittany is a second year teacher, but this is her first year teaching at Holy Ghost. She graduated from the University of Toledo with an Early Childhood teaching degree for Pre-K to 3. She has two young children, Huntley and Silas. She enjoys going up north and spending time with her family. She is looking forward to this school year.
Levonne has been teaching 1st and 2nd grade at Holy Ghost for 17 years. She grew up in Frankenmuth, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Concordia Seward, NE. She also has a Master’s Degree. Her favorite subjects to teach are reading and religion, as she finds great joy in helping children grow into young Christian men and women. She and her loving, supportive husband, John, have raised three children. They have been married for 37 years. Her hobbies include reading, gardening, walking, and cooking.
Victoria LaRoy is the new 3rd/4th grade teacher at Holy Ghost. She grew up in Carleton and went to Airport Community Schools. Victoria attended the University of Toledo for her bachelor’s degree in Education and majored in Math and Language Arts. This is her first year teaching and she is very excited to embark on this new journey. Victoria enjoys reading, camping, boating, playing tennis, and spending time with children and loved ones.
Brandy attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School for kindergarten through eighth grade and returned four years ago to teach here. She teaches math for the 5th through 8th graders and science, writing, and reading for the 5th and 6th graders. She graduated from Spring Arbor University with her teaching degree, and she especially enjoys teaching science and writing. She loves everything to do with animals and has a fish tank and bearded dragon in her classroom.
Born and raised in Monroe, Michigan, Jayne attended Holy Ghost from Kindergarten to 8th grade. She went to Concordia University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Wayne State University. She came back to Holy Ghost in 2005 (after teaching in Illinois and at Lutheran High South) and has enjoyed teaching a variety of subjects in fifth through eighth grade and coaching numerous sports. She is looking forward to another great year serving Christ in the place she calls her second home.
Karen Durham is joining the Holy Ghost staff this year, after teaching here 4 years ago. She will be teaching religion and social studies for the 5-8 graders. She has taught in 3rd - 12th grade classrooms in Cincinnati, OH, Kokomo, IN, and Monroe, MI. She and her husband, Rick, have two sons: Chris, who is studying at Concordia University Wisconsin and Anton, who is a senior at Ida. Chris was married this summer. She is looking forward to sharing God’s word with her students this year.
